Abstract: This study provides information on the psychological and sociocultural correlates of motor skill development of athletes in Botswana. Seventy-three (73) student athletes were sampled on a psycho-sociocultural and motor skills development questionnaire. Results indicated a positive and moderate relationship of the psychological and sociocultural variables on the athletes' motor skill development. Also, significant gender differences were not (P>.05) apparent in mean rating with the psychological and sociocultural variables as they influenced the athlets' motor skill development.
