On the Orlicz-Pettis theorem for integrals
(Pushpa Publishing House, www.pphmj.com, 2010-10)
In this note, we propose a more efficient approach to the definition of the integral of Banach-valued functions that enables us to give an improved version of the Orlicz-Pettis theorem for integrals.
Observations on the effect of proximity to rhyolitic intrusions on Kübler index
(Mineralogical Society of Poland, http://www.degruyter.com/view/j/mipo, 2010)
The Upper Ordovician sedimentary succession of southeast Ireland is riddled with almost synsedimentary igneous intrusions. A study was required to determine any effects of these intrusions on Kübler Index (KI) so that ...
The susceptibility of different maize varieties to post-harvest infestation by Sitophilus zeamais (MOTSCH) (Coleoptera: Cuculionidae)
(Academic Journals, http://www.academicjournals.org/SRE, 2010-01)
Nine maize varieties collected at IITA were investigated for their relative susceptibilities to attack by
Sitophilus zeamais MOTSCH, an important insect pest of stored maize. The results obtained were
summarized using ...
Optical properties of amorphous Sb2Se3:Sn films
(Taylor & Francis, 2010)
The measurements and analysis of optical transmission and far-infrared
(IR) reflectivity spectra of thermally evaporated Sb2Se3:Sn films are
reported. The refractive index and film thickness have been determined
from ...
Ionic and water relations of Sesuvium portulacastrum (L.)
(Academic Journals, http://www.academicjournals.org/, 2010)
The aim of this study was to assess the growth response of Sesuvium portulacastrum (L.) (a halophyte)
to various NaCl concentrations and hence determine how it is adapted to grow optimally under saline
conditions. S. ...
Comparative analysis of heavy metal concentration in secondary treated wastewater irrigated soils cultivated by different crops
(Springer, http://link.springer.com/, 2010-03)
The use of treated urban wastewater for irrigation is a relatively recent innovation in Botswana and
knowledge is still limited on its impact on soil heavy metal levels. The aim of this study is to analyze and compare ...
Pollution implications of Save River water from weathering and dissolution of metal hosting minerals at Dorowa phosphate mine, Zimbabwe
(Elsevier Science Ltd, http://www.elsevier.com/locate/pce, 2010)
The study set out to determine the weathering and dissolution of metal hosting minerals at Dorowa for purposes of deducing pollution potential to the nearby Save River. Phosphate rock is mined at Dorowa for
the production ...
Heterogeneous crystallization and composition dependence of optical parameters in Sn–Sb–Bi–Se chalcogenides
(Springer, 2010)
Bulk samples of Sn10Sb20-xBixSe70 (0 B x B 8)
chalcogenide alloys were prepared by the conventional melt quenching technique. Thin films were prepared on wellcleaned
glass substrates by thermal evaporation technique. ...
Analysis of the effects of kraal manure accumulation on soil nutrient status through time
(Academic Journals, 2010-11)
This study investigated the influence of the accumulation of animal wastes on the soils of active kraal sites through time. This investigation involved the sampling and analysis of the soils of kraals that had been in use ...
Chicken manure-enhanced soil fertility and productivity: effects of application rates
(Academic Journals, http://www.academicjournals.org/JSSEM, 2010-05)
The utilization of chicken manure as an organic fertilizer is essential in improving soil productivity and
crop production. We carried out the study to assess the effects of chicken manure on soil chemical
properties and ...
